OFFSEASON REDS, BLUES, GOLDS AND GREENS

Offseason blues, the feelings, mood and or sanity universally acknowledged and experienced across the sporting world. Occasionally schedules can offset but mostly they don’t. It’s never easy to keep your self busy or distracted, if only. For many years I’ve been meaning to create a dedicated platform to express the passion for my sporting pastimes. Thankfully the NFL has a number of offseason activities and going forward Hidden Yardage will help negate the lack of on-field competition for the long-term.

The 2022 Draft was amazing, really cannot wait for the rookie minicamp and organised team activities. The camp battles will be savage owing to the quality of the draftees and undrafted rookies. Local media has witnessed improvements and progress on and off the field by Trey Lance and the 2021 draft class. Apparently Trey lance had to adjust his throwing mechanics due the finger injury he sustained early last year. The injury was managed till season end but thankfully he is now healthy, ready and eager to compete.

The offensive line will provide plenty of intrigue for the immediate and long-term. Camp battle for a new center will ensue owing to Alex Mack retirement. Time will tell if we see familiarity or a standout rookie performance claim the coveted position. The extra responsibilities and complexities for a center in the 49ers system may favour individuals with familiarity and league experience over a rookie.
