NFL DRAFT 2022
DAY ONE – NO PICKS
Exhilarating night with player and pick trades galore. You couldn’t script the manoeuvring. I managed to watch the entire event even though my beloved 49ers were not on the clock. I loved the NFL teams playing cards, the individual designs were eye-catching but in my opinion the set design and typography did not do justice to the inspired artwork. The draftee walkthrough area was uninspiring from the walls, lighting, ceiling to the flooring. The 2021 set remains my favourite and has nothing to do with drafting Trey Lance.
DAY TWO – WE HAVE PICKS AND WE HAVE DEEBO
I wonder if we’ll see more trades and the like? Thankfully the 49ers will be on the clock. Trades and more trades, plus the niners made three intriguing selections. Drake Jackson has freakish athletic ability, another jolt for the defensive line, Tyrion Davis-Price looks to be a bruiser and a complimentary piece to the running back group. Danny Gray has the speed, yac yardage ability and some.
DAY THREE – 6 PICKS
After much research, I’m thrilled with the picks on day two. Overall I’m extremely intrigued with the draft haul; we resigned Jason Verrett and failed to trade Deebo. The 2022 Draft has yielded explosive talent for immediate off-season camp usage with plenty of future potential and depth across the board.
UNDRAFTED ROOKIES – 14 SELECTIONS
Excellent UDFA signings as per norm but how were some of these players not drafted? Jason Poe will hurt people, Dohnovan West, Jeremiah Gemmel, Qwuantrezz Knight could be legit gems. Camp battles will be brutal, some if not all day two and three selections will have to compete like madmen to make the team.
